Stress and Cardiovascular Disease -- Maharishi Transcendental Meditation Technique

Physiological Effects of Transcendental Meditation
Transcendental Meditation is a technique for reducing stress and improving health and well-being. It is an easily learned and practiced mental technique for deeply relaxing the mind and body, balancing the physiology, and strengthening the immune system.

Once learned, TM is practiced 20 minutes twice a day, while sitting comfortably with eyes closed. It is a simple, natural technique by which the mind settles down to a state of restful alertness. It can be practiced by anyone, by oneself at home, and requires no special setting or environment. It is not a religion or philosophy, and requires no change in lifestyle and no beliefs. Transcendental Meditation only involves sitting comfortably and practicing the technique for 20 minutes twice a day.
